Abel Bingham, born April 5, 1820, served as a missionary among Indians at Tonnawanda, New York (1822-1827) and Sault St. Marie, Michigan (1828-1855), and opened mission schools at each site. He married Hannah Brown in 1809 and had 5 children. He served in the War of 1812. He died in 1865. From the description of Abel Bingham and family papers, 1778-1957 (inclusive) [microform].
